Our mission is to provide the simplest, easiest-to-use, most economical technologies for the development and deployment of Internet services.
Imagine a world connected. A cliche, you say? Everybody talks about the world connected by the Internet. So, why hasn't it happened? Yet?
Complexity. Cost.
A large percentage of Internet applications never get finished. Why?
Complexity. Cost.
The tools available now are many and large. However, things are not easier. Web applications are still very expensive and very difficult to produce.
Imagine this:
You want a massage. You go to a website and peruse the schedule of available times from your favorite masseuse. You enter your credit card information, select a convenient time-slot, and click "submit". Your masseuse is paged. Everything works.
This Internet application doesn't exist. Why?
Complexity. Cost.
Or ..
You are a small manufacturer. You have a proprietary IBM System 34 database. You want to make your catalog available to your distributors as an XML file, on a daily basis, so that they can merge it with their catalogs.
So many applications don't get developed because it's just too hard. Non-programmers have produced applications using simple tools, like MS Access. Other non-programmers have created web pages using HTML editors. The nexus of database, logic, and the Internet is still an area that is left to highly-paid experts. The example appications above should be possible with just a few hundred lines of code.
CloudWriter will provide a set of usable, SIMPLE, technologies that will form the core of an Internet Services Framework.
Simple Is Better
CloudWriter technologies reduces the time and cost of building Internet services by reducing complexity while increasing functionality. By Internet services we mean any service that operates on the Internet - not just web services. We're also talking about business-to-business services (purchasing, sales, CRM), server-to-portable-device, database-to-database - virtually anything that involves two or more machines connected by the Internet. It also includes publish/subscribe services, not just request/response services (like the web). CloudWriter is an Internet Services Framework.
CloudWriter comprises two principle components:
These are combined with basic classes that simplify the creation of web applications:
Potential Licensee Extensions
As we license the core technologies, we expect to see the development of modular components locally or by licensees. Some of these are:
Full-Range Capability
Although CloudWriter technology make it extremely easy to develop simple applications, it possesses the depth, flexibility, and scalability to develop websites with the most complex business rules and large, complex databases.
